Spelthorne Mental Health Association (SP)
We are looking for new trustees for Spelthorne Mental Health Association, a small but long-established independent local charity which runs a day centre for Spelthorne people recovering from mental illness. The day centre is in pleasant surroundings in Fordbridge Park, Kingston Road, on the Ashford/Staines border. We provide a social centre and therapeutic activities such as art, crafts, woodwork, relaxation and a computer class, plus transport and outings. This helps people to stay well, avoid relapse, and have a good quality of life.
The Association is funded by a charity shop so has fewer financial problems than most voluntary organisations.
We welcome as committee members and potential trustees anyone with an interest in mental health who can help us to run the charity and expand the services. Experience as trustee, treasurer, in HR, or running websites would be particularly welcome.

Committee meetings are held as needed, generally on a weekday afternoon. We hope that trustees will get involved with activities at the centre.
