Work Stress Solutions (WSS) is based in Epsom, Surrey. It is funded entirely by grants and donations and operates in the Surrey Area.

Its purpose is to assist people who are vulnerable through health problems, social isolation and low confidence to retain or gain employment, education or voluntary work and to encourage people to thrive within the local community. We do this by providing individual support, courses, skills training and work experience.

We have a strong and active team of Trustees who support our two part-time staff and ad-hoc facilitators and volunteers delivering services.

We are seeking an additional Trustee with responsibility for overseeing staff and operational management who would be prepared to have monthly face to face meetings with staff, offer ad hoc telephone or email guidance and attend evening Trustee meetings held four times per year.

It is funded entirely by grants and donations and operates in the Surrey Area. We do this by providing individual support, courses, skills training and work experience. There is a Board of Trustees to ensure it meets its purpose.

Role Description

Specific Duties:

• Responsibility for overseeing staff and operational management

• Arranging and attending monthly face to face meetings with staff

• Ad hoc telephone or email guidance to staff or other Trustees

• Responding to essential email and social media posts between other Trustees and staff

• Being an active member of the WSS Board of Trustees who together provide strategic management of the Charity and ensure it meets Charity Commission requirements

• Attendance at evening Trustee meetings held four times per year

What skills do I need?

Qualities and Experience:

Essential Administration and Management experience Excellent basic IT skills and knowledge of software (Word, excel, etc.) Excellent communication skills Excellent organisational skills Enthusiasm, flexibility and reliability

Desirable Experience of working in third or public sector.

Experience of working with vulnerable people

Experience in finance

Experience in strategic planning

Experience in Fundraising and grant applications
