Volunteer Car Drivers

Hart and Rushmoor Young Carers provide respite sessions at youth clubs in Yateley and Farnborough during term-time, giving young people time-out from their caring responsibilities for an adult or sibling in their family. As many families find it difficult to provide transport for their children to attend these clubs, we rely on volunteers to help out by providing transport to and from club sessions.

We are looking for volunteer drivers, who are available during term-time and could help with one (or both) of the sessions detailed below. They are welcome to stay at the club and have a cuppa or pop back home returning later to take the children home.

Monday at the Youth Rooms at The Tythings in Yateley from 7-8:30pm for young carers aged 13+ years,

Wednesday at the Mayfield Community Centre in Farnborough from 5-7pm for 7-12 year olds

Routes will be arranged so that drivers are picking young people who live in the same area.

Mileage is paid at 45p per mile.

What skills do I need?

Car owner.

Aged 18+

Excellent communication skills.

Ideally able to offer either a weekly or fortnightly commitment in term time only.
