About VASE

Voluntary Action Surrey East (VASE) is committed to supporting, empowering, and transforming the voluntary and community sector across East Surrey. 

About the role

We’re looking for new volunteers to help us run our volunteer brokerage offer in the Volunteer Centre.

As a Volunteer Centre Adviser, you will help local people find volunteering roles which suits their skills, availability, and interests. This is a varied and fulfilling role where you will get to see the benefits that volunteering can bring to individuals, as well as supporting local charities by helping them find volunteers.

The role will suit someone with customer service experience who is confident using IT, although full training will be given on our systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Triaging new volunteer enquiries through our Volunteer Management System.
  • Discussing volunteering interests with individuals via email and over the phone.
  • Speaking with organisations to learn about their current volunteer opportunities.
  • Following up with individuals and organisations to confirm volunteer placements.

What skills do I need?

Skills and Experience

  • Customer service experience
  • Good general administration skills
  • Excellent communication skills over email and phone
  • An interest in learning about the charity sector
  • Knowledge of the local area can be helpful
