All are welcome at St Paul’s. Here you will find a warm, safe, open space where you are free to watch or join in, to receive or to give, to pass through or to belong. On Sundays we worship with joy, refuelling the community for the week ahead. The core areas of our Parish Vision are:

  • Faith and Worship
  • Youth and Children
  • Hospitality

We are looking for general volunteers : This would require assisting with the unloading and sorting of our weekly delivery of donations for the Runnymede Foodbank which runs from the church on a Tuesday evening. In addition, volunteers could also assist in setting up the church (moving chairs and tables) for our weekly youth group and help with the upkeep of the green spaces and car park.

Thursday: A very busy day where each week we run a lively and bustling toddler group in the morning (stepping stones) and then, after lunch, a group where older folk can enjoy conversation and community over tea and cake (Tea and Chat). Volunteers on Thursdays would assist with tidying up after the toddler group and preparing the space for the afternoon. During Tea and Chat, volunteers would be required to assist with the preparing and serving of refreshments and be willing to engage with the different members of the group.

Saturday: A 2 hour morning slot largely given over to tidying the church space after a busy week and making it ready for our service on Sunday. General cleaning, gardening and litter picking would all be welcome too.

What skills do I need?

As St Paul’s sits at the heart of the community, it is important that volunteers mirror our values of welcome and hospitality and have a readiness to interact with members of the public in a way which is caring, patient and compassionate. First and foremost, we are a worshipping community and whilst we would welcome volunteers of other faiths and non, potential volunteers may need to consider how comfortable they would feel in the environment and working in a team which shares a common faith.
