We are looking for people with good DIY skills and a home workshop to join our small panel of similar individuals.  We design and make custom equipment for the disabled, often working with a professional such as Occupational Therapists.

  • Volunteers need to have imaginative and problem-solving minds plus the practical DIY skills to put these ideas into practice.
  • Many Remap engineers are from an engineering background, but we also need electronics and computer expertise. Experience with making things from wood, plastics, and metal together with any model making skills would be ideal. In fact, a need to just make things is what really drives everyone in Remap.
  • Volunteers do not have to just work alone. There is an enormous amount of engineering know how in Surrey Remap you can refer to.
  • Out of pocket expenses for purchased materials are always reimbursed.
  • You will be required to attend bimonthly branch meetings in the local area.

"It is great to be able to use our engineering skills to make something unique like this; it makes a really big difference to someone’s quality of life."  Richard, Remap Volunteer

We also have social gatherings at a pub in Surrey usually scheduled some time between those formal meetings. Surrey Remap volunteers carry on their duties as they are needed. There are no time limits or set working hours.
