The Macular Society
Nearly 1.5m people in the UK have macular disease. It affects people of all ages. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common condition, generally affecting people over the age of 55. AMD is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, affecting more than 700,000 people.
We are currently looking for someone, or a group of people, to help set up our Staines Macular Society Group on a monthly basis. We are looking for someone open-minded who could dedicate two hours a month, to help set up the venue, and introduce a speaker to a support group. We have an excellent regional manager who will be there to support and guide you with any questions you may have. You don\'t need to have experience in living with sightloss, but just a willingness to learn about how it can impact someone.
We are looking for someone who is friendly and can pass on relevant information, if possible.
