The Hub Englefield Green (RM)
The volunteer worker will be part of a team providing a Community Club for children aged 7-11 years who live in Englefield Green and surrounding areas. As a team member the volunteer worker will help to create a fun, safe environment with constructive things to do, offering practical, emotional and educational support. With the aim of improving their self-esteem, helping with relational and self-management skills, grow in their leadership skills, teaching them to take personal ownership of their environment, the place where they live, their future and their interactions with others
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
set up/set down of the hall 30 mins before and after of the club
organising craft activities
leading group games
keeping areas safe and tidy
follow safeguarding practices and report any concerns to the team leader
welcoming, engaging with, and encouraging all children
This role is suitable if you can commit to every week, or we can schedule to fit around your availability. Safeguarding and first aid training is available. Come and make a positive difference to young people's lives in Englefield Green.
Volunteer person specification:
Enthusiastic about working with children and developing their skills and abilities
Reliable and able to communicate availability to the team leader
Patient and discerning when relating to children and their parents
Able to work as part of a team
Be willing to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check (free)
