Admin Support

The Basingstoke Canal Society (The Society) needs your skills and experience as a General Administrator.

The Society wants a person to help the team on general admin assisting with the daily admin of the canal centre. This is for approximately a day a week (this could be flexible for example two half days).

The role could include;

• following through new volunteer enquiries
• helping organise volunteer days
• and other routine tasks.

Training would be given and you would be working as part of a good fun team. Contact The Society to find out more.

The Society are the guardians of the canal which runs through Surrey and Hampshire.  It works alongside the councils’ managing authority and its overarching aim is to ‘keep the canal alive’ by:

• Promoting the future of the canal
• Protecting our environment
• Providing community leisure activities
• Preserving our heritage.

The canal is a vital local amenity with virtually its whole length designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It provides a great range of leisure activities, including boating, running, walking, cycling and angling.

What skills do I need?
