Dreams For Hope is dedicated to alleviating bed poverty across the six boroughs in North and North East Surrey, where it is estimated that over 10,000 children and young people do not have their own bed to sleep in.

Human capital is our biggest need with referrals for beds arriving at a much more robust pace than last year. Since we have expanded our coverage from exclusively Elmbridge, to Elmbridge, Spelthorne, Runnymede, Mole Valley, Epsom & Ewell and Reigate & Banstead, and awareness of bed poverty has grown, the demands on our volunteer time has increased exponentially. No special skills or tools are necessary and all that is required is your time and enthusiasm to bring hope and joy to a child and their family.

Exciting opportunity to volunteer with Dreams For Hope, a newly formed charity that provides beds for children and young people who do not have a bed of their own.

The role involves assembling metal single beds, using only an allen key. No heavy lifting is required. Each bed normally takes 15-20 mins to assemble working in pairs.

What skills do I need?

None required apart from the ability to use an allen key.

Access to a car is beneficial as we do multiple addresses in one day.

Soft drinks will be provided and reimbursement for travel will be paid at the rate of 45p per mile.

The charity tries to schedule the deliveries in a tight radius to avoid unnecessary travel time. If required, car sharing can be arranged.
