Dorking Museum and Heritage Centre (CSVA)

Activities

  • Teaching, Training and Coaching

Dorking Museum is looking for enthusiastic people to assist in delivering family activities to young people and/or to assist with youth group visits (schools and other youth groups). The Museum’s family activity team runs a regular schedule of themed activities at the Museum and at the library – some craft or art based, others exploring objects or aspects of history. We also run bespoke visits to the Museum for schools to explore aspects of the National Curriculum tied in to local history. We are looking for enthusiastic people to assist, welcoming schools or families and helping them get the most from their visits.

This is an opportunity to work with a team of enthusiastic people and to have some fun. For the right candidates there is the possibility of going to propose and organise activities, rather than supporting.

What skills do I need?

No formal skills needed – just friendliness and common sense and a willingness to muck in.

No teaching qualifications or knowledge of the National Curriculum necessary to assist with school visits – but applicants with teaching qualifications or experience are encouraged to apply as there is scope for taking more responsibility and/or management of these events, and to offer advice.
