Chair of Trustees, Connect Counselling Service (part time unremunerated}

Connect Counselling Service is a charity that was founded in Camberley almost 30 years ago and offers general counselling service for adults over 18, couples and family therapy for groups of all ages.  We are an organisation rooted in the Christian faith serving the community irrespective of their faith and beliefs, and we offer professional counselling to anyone irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, religion or ethnic origin.

Following the retirement of a long standing trustee and most recent chair, the charity is looking to recruit their successor to lead the organisation as it enters its fourth decade serving the needs of the community of Surrey Heath and its neighbours.

Further to the reorganisation more change is needed ahead to further progress many aspects of the organisation from a traditional approach, with the focus on the past, to a forward thinking, more modern and digital organisation - for Connect to 'sing a new song'  building of its core thoughts.  This critical role as chair is to guide the entire board, and we are looking for an experienced leader to work with the CEO and trustees to build on the change that has started, and to further develop and implement a vision and strategy to achieve Connects purpose.

It is a truly exciting time to lead, support and inspire this charity, as it celebrates 30 outstanding years of delivery, and enters a new chapter.

A full description and person specification can be found on the Connect website (https.connectcounselling.org.uk/become-a-trustee).
