Elmbridge Borough Council (CSVA)
To lead short walks across the borough (20 – 90 mins at slow or moderate pace) on the Elmbridge Wellbeing Walks scheme. Helping local residents to keep mentally and physically well through walking. A walk leader assistant role is also available for those who don’t want to be the main leader but would like to help – usually taking the back leader role.
Volunteer Walk leaders and assistants must be friendly, welcoming and inclusive to all participants on the walks. Once trained, leaders will need to plan and deliver a safe walking route to members of the public (though you can be taught an existing route or assist an experienced leader). Leaders must undertake a basic walks risk assessment in advance of the walk. On the day the leader and assistant will need to ensure all walkers are wearing appropriate clothing and footwear, have completed a new member registration form (if applicable) and recorded on the register.
Enjoy the outdoors, talking and listening to others, and welcoming.
