Spelthorne ParaSports Club (SPSC)
Volunteers are needed to help with the running of Spelthorne Parasports club. The club is for young people aged between 5 and 25 years with special needs and their siblings. Volunteers will be required to act as 'buddies' for the young people to encourage them to try a number of different sports and sport related activities. 'Buddies' ensure that the young people have a good time, joining in with and supervising activities as required while ensuring a safe environment for the young people. The roles are open to anyone from aged 15 onwards. All volunteers over 16 will need to have a Criminal Record Bureau check, which can be done free of charge through the Council. References will be needed for volunteers of all ages.
No special qualifications are required; we are looking for reliable people who have plenty of enthusiasm and the ability to communicate well with a range of people. A willingness to have fun is important and any ladies out there interested in sport would be particularly welcome.
