Support Buddies are needed for people with learning disabilities who live in Active Prospects Supported Housing.

A Buddy will accompany people we support on a trip out, shopping, to the park or to appointments.

If a Buddy had a particular skill such as cooking they could help people we support prepare their evening meal, do some baking or if they are knowledgeable about IT they could teach some basic IT skills.

    18+ may be able to consider 17 years if they are in a supportive team environment, with the right permissions and risk assessments in place.

    Volunteers receive regular supervision from their line manager and regular feedback on their contribution. We provide references for people as they move on to college or employment.
  • Training provided
    we provide e-learning in core subjects relevant to the role (safeguarding, health and safety etc) and can offer places on our in-house classroom based learning after volunteers have been with us for 3 months.
  • Volunteer induction
    Every volunteer will have a thorough induction and a training and development plan to help them achieve personal goals.
