At Interventions Alliance our Interventions Support Volunteers play a key role by supporting staff to deliver positive impact through projects that address a range of needs of the participants we work with (predominantly men over the age of 18 years). Our Volunteers help minimise a person’s risk of reoffending and support them on their journey of creating healthier relationships by assisting them to access vital services and engage with their local community, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed and create an overall positive lifestyle change.
Intervention Support Volunteers act as positive role models and offer personalised one-to-one practical and emotional support to participants who are undergoing a Behaviour Change Intervention relating to Domestic Abuse or Compulsive and Obsessive Behaviour. Participants undergo the support on voluntary basis or under police supervision. Our participants are matched with volunteers based on their geographical location (for in person cases), risk factors and support needs. All Volunteer support will be delivered during core business hours Monday to Friday 9 -5pm and can be done in person (on secure premises or in community) or remotely.
This is a rewarding role, with many positive outcomes for the participants you will be matched with. In return for your volunteering efforts we offer specialised training, paid expenses, and high level of support and supervision from a Volunteer Coordinator. Additionally, you will also gain insight into the Criminal Justice Sector and an opportunity to engage with and shadow industry professionals.
We ask for a minimum of a 1-year commitment following completion of vetting and training and a minimum of 3 hours of volunteering per week during office hours. Our volunteers must understand the need for reliability, punctuality and have good communication skills. The post is subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
