Vital Village CIC (CSVA)
Overview: The Family & Parenting Programme Champion plays a vital role in supporting and empowering families within our community.
This role focuses on developing and implementing programmes and resources that enhance parenting skills, promote family well-being, and create a supportive network for parents and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Development: Collaborate with local organizations, experts, and community members to design and implement a comprehensive Family & Parenting programme.
Produce an annual forward looking planning exercise to be discussed with VV’s management team. Identify and prioritise initiatives that address the unique needs of families within the community.
Suggest a funding strategy for various activities within the Programme as well as maintaining expenditures within the agreed budget.
Workshop and Event Coordination: Organize parenting workshops, seminars, and support groups to provide valuable information and resources to parents and caregivers.
Plan family-oriented events and activities that strengthen family bonds and encourage community engagement.
Resource Hub: Curate a collection of resources, including articles, guides, and books, on parenting, child development, and family well-being.
Maintain an accessible resource hub for community members to access information and support.
Peer Support: Facilitate peer support groups and parenting circles, where parents can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another.
Provide a safe and inclusive space for open discussions on parenting challenges and successes.
Education and Outreach: Deliver educational sessions on various aspects of parenting, including child development, effective communication, and positive discipline technique Conduct outreach activities to ensure that parents in the community are aware of available resources and programs.
Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Family & Parenting programmes and initiatives.
Prepare regular reports on programme outcomes and participation rates.
Passion for supporting families and enhancing parenting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of child development, parenting strategies, and family dynamics. Organizational and event planning skills.
Ability to work empathetically with diverse families and caregivers.
Sensitivity to the unique needs and challenges faced by families within the community.

The Family & Parenting Program Champion position is typically part-time and flexible, with hours varying based on program activities and community needs. Occasional evening or weekend events may be required.
