At Whitmore Vale, we offer services to people with learning disabilities and we work alongside them to achieve the most out of their life. Through supported living and residential care we can meet a wide range of needs, supporting people with a mild learning disability, to those who have profound and complex disabilities.

We work closely with all our volunteers to provide opportunities that they are passionate about - whether it\\\'s working face-to-face with the people we support, providing transport or furthering your admin skills, we want to hear from you!

We recognise that many of our volunteers lead busy lives and we always work with volunteers to find regular hours and opportunities that suit them. We also reimburse reasonable travel expenses and other out-of-pocket expenses.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Providing and supporting activities both in-house and in the community

- Sharing any skills or interests you may have e.g., gardening, music, arts and crafts, baking

- Facilitating or supporting walking groups

- Supporting residents on day trips or out in the community

- Providing emotional support to our residents - sometimes they just need someone to chat to over a cuppa

- Driving residents in company vehicles so they can access the community (drivers will need to undergo a licence check and will be put on company insurance)

- Admin support in our head office

What skills do I need?

We look for skills such as:

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Be reliable and punctual

- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

- A passion for working with people
