Volunteer to support Teenager Recreational Programme.
Our teenagers usually attend our events without their parents and we rely on a small dedicated team of volunteers to support SFS staff.
This involves supporting the young people at the event by providing sighted guide and clear communication support and assisting staff with a variety of tasks such as completing forms, preparing refreshments.
SFS staff has loco-parentis responsibility for the young people at these events, our volunteers are an important part of our team in ensuring we are able to give the right amount of support and meet the needs of each individual young person.
The SFS CYPS team provide regular training to ensure our volunteers have the skills needed for the role.
The recreation programme runs events at weekends and during school holidays.
The amount of time required for each event is generally few hours once a month.
For this role - Supporting Child /Young Person during the activities you will need to have an enhanced Police Check via the Disclosure and Barring Service and SFS can arrange for these to be completed.
Patient, friendly, approachable and reliable.
