VOLUNTEER required to support OUR 2026 BIKE and TECH AMNESTY planned for Saturday 24/10/26 OBJECTIVE of the Bike Amnesty and Tech project will facilitate MORE cycling by MORE people throughout the Borough and help local people recycle their bike and tech .

What is involved to make it happen in 2025?

1) By various forms of advances communications encourage local people to donate spare bikes and tech to a pre-advertised venue (Epsom Methodist Scout Hall) on a specific date (22/11/25)

2) Arranging for those bike to collected for refurbishment as required (by the Active Surrey Team at Surrey County Council and Full Cycle New Malden )

3) Help Active Surrey identify local people who would benefit from the use of a FREE and refurbished bike

4) Providing information (as required) to those that need it on how to plan their local cycle routes for day to day use

5) Signpost new riders to training and group rides through Cycling England local group. (Used to be the CTC)

6) Liaise with the existing Epsom and Ewell Cycle forum about any suggestions to improve local cycle routes and facilities

7) To review "what went well" and "what could have gone better" at the end of each Cycle Amnesty project.

8) To decide on the frequency and format of future cycle amnesties and put into practice.

9) To liaise with our Communications Team at every stage

10) Liaise our Sustainable Transport Lead on cycling matters

What skills do I need?

Ideally you should be a keen, experienced, enthusiastic cyclist

Available on 24/10/26 to help on collection day

A good communicator to ensure the project is a success
