We are looking for volunteers to get involved in nature and community projects. Current opportunities include helping at our new allotment site, supporting local conservation activities, art projects, a library of things and tech & bike amnesties.  

Organisation: The Epsom and Ewell Climate Action Network develops and delivers projects to help our communities become more resilient to the effects of Climate Change

About eeCAN eeCAN develops and delivers local projects that support nature, encourage climate-friendly living, and helps our community take practical steps to reduce climate impact. We work with residents, volunteers, and partner organisations to protect and enhance our local environment.

Location: Epsom & Ewell and adjacent areas

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week, flexible

Start Date: Flexible- July 2026 ready for our library of Things opening

Help Us raise awareness of Nature in our communities and deliver projects that protect and enhance nature

We now have a community allotment in Stoneleigh near Ewell to give you the opportunity to network with the other local Nature and Conservation groups to identify ways to achieve even more Nature and conservation work together.

for example expanding the Blue Heart scheme that promotes rewilding of Highway grass verges; Protecting Endangered species Hedgehogs and Water Voles; Installing a living roof on our new Library of Things external store; Organising and run wildlife Walks; Organise planting and care of trees in partnership with others /p>

1.8 Develop litter picking with and around local schools to encourage care of the environment

1.9 Start a seed bank and organise collection and distribution of seeds

1.10 Start a Pocket Farm as promoted by the National Trust

1.11 Start a Grow Your Own Blossom Trees project

1.12 Start a BeNature project as developed by Dr Matteo Giusti from Surrey University

1.13 Organising teams (with exiting groups) to do litter picking and/or removal of invasive species s

What You’ll Do:

• You will work with other volunteers passionate and knowledgeable about our local nature

• Together you will choose the project that you feel will inspire our residents to want to get more involved in Nature

• Liaise with other Climate Action Network Volunteer leads where your project may offer synergy

What You’ll Get:

Time Commitment & Support · This is a flexible volunteer role, and we appreciate any time you can give. · Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit 1-2 hours per week. · Our Climate Action Network Team will provide full support and guidance—you’ll be joining a welcoming and collaborative team who want to make a difference in their local community
