Epsom and Ewell Time Bank (TB) is a new exciting startup organisation that is focused on local community projects to exchange time, skills and experience in the spirit of co-operation, social interaction and integration.

We are seeking a Bid Writer and Fundraiser volunteer, who is passionate about community projects to build a comprehensive funding strategy whilst making the case to donors, trusts and corporate organisations to fund our work in Epsom, Ewell and the surrounding area at an early stage.

The role is working from home with occassional meetings and would require a commitment of 8 hours per week. We would ask for a minimum of 6 month commitment to the role

Key Tasks

  •       Research potential funding opportunities and identify new sources of funding.
  •       Write, prepare and submit successful grant proposals, report documentation, and funding requests.
  •       Review and strategically edit proposals based on feedback from grant-making organizations.
  •       Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive fundraising plan.
  •       Work collaboratively with the Project Manager to identify funding priorities and develop proposals that align with organizational goals.
  •       Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential funders.
  •       Monitor and track proposal submissions and ensure compliance with deadlines and requirements.
  •       Develop and implement fundraising campaigns, including mail, online, and event-based initiatives.
  •       Identify and pursue opportunities for corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
  •       Analyse fundraising data to measure success and plan for future initiatives.


What skills do I need?

  •        At least two years’ experience working in a fundraising role – this could be in grants, individual or corporate giving but a range of experience would be welcomed.
  •         A proven track record of raising substantial income on an annualised basis.
  •         The ability to commit to, and work within, the aims, principles and policies of the Time Bank.
  •        Good understanding and knowledge of trusts, statutory and lottery fundraising and the voluntary sector.
  •        IT literate with strong administrative skills (manual and computerised). Essential: Microsoft Office Word, Excel Powerpoint)
  •         Experience in collating monitoring information for reports on grants from statutory and lottery funders, ideally from charitable trusts and donations.
  •         Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills including the ability to write funding briefs, reports, proposals and correspondence.
  •         Flexible, self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks  in a timely manner under minimal supervision.
  •        Experience of working independently to drive and deliver multiple projects.
  •        Experience of researching and writing detailed proposals to obtain funding from various sources including Trusts, Foundations, Institutions and Corporate Donors.
  •        Experience of building and maintaining good relationships with colleagues and the wider community.
  •        Ability to plan and organise a varied and busy workload, including handling conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
  •        Good numeracy skills.
