Gardener

To maintain and develop the courtyard Gardens in the hospital

To tend to the courtyard gardens on a weekly basis sweeping, weeding, planting and pruning as required.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Every volunteer will carry a key to the gardening shed
• To work as part of the gardening team agreeing tasks for each session, this will be dependent upon the season.
• This role may require volunteers to be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Sign in/out at the main entrance
• To inform the volunteer manager should there be a long term period of absence/holiday or in the event that the volunteer wishes to end their role.
• To inform the Unit of absence
• To at all times maintain confidentiality and adhere to the trusts vision and values
• To undertake MaST training as required by the trust

What skills do I need?

• Friendly and warm – able to engage with the public
• Ability to work as a team
• Physically fit – as large amount of walking involved
