Established in 2006, Merstham Community Facility Trust (MCFT) is a charity that aims to support, connect, and empower the local community. We work with the public and other organisations in a common effort to improve social welfare, health, education, employment and the general quality of life of members of the local community. Based in the vibrant Merstham Hub, MCFT provides a safe, accessible space for individuals to receive inclusive access to provisions and opportunities.

About the role:

We are looking for volunteers to cover our reception, welcome and support users of the Hub.
As the first point of contact, this is a pivotal volunteering role in supporting our staff. Activities at the Hub varies which unfortunately means you might have a lot of downtime during your shift.

Activities includes:

  • Greeting users and directing them to the appropriate department.
  • Signposting users and providing information on our services and projects.
  • Answering the phone.
  • Monitoring the inbox of the MCFT
  • General admin duties to support staff when needed.

    There is disabled access and toilets, but no hearing loop. We would need to confirm if the desk is suitable for wheelchair access.

    18+
  • DBS check required

    We cover travel expenses such as bus journeys (with presentation of a receipt) or petrol with a limit journey of 12 miles return. We will use petty cash or bank transfer every couple of weeks or 1 a month to refund.
