MERU, a part of the QEF group of charities, is a charity that creates unique, assistive products for disabled children and young people.
Our very specialist innovative workshop which adapts mainstream toys so they are user friendly for disabled children, is looking for long term volunteers to assist in assembly.
Volunteers will need to be dexterous with an eye for detail and enjoy practical tasks.
It will involve the use of hand tools and is particularly suitable for people who enjoy making things possibly with an interest in DIY or arts and crafts.
It is not heavy work and full training will be given. Volunteers who have an interest or need experience in mechanical engineering may find this role particularly appealing .
In particular we are looking for a volunteer, with experience in soldering and electronics, to adapt toys to operate with a button switch. The role will involve soldering new connections and reassembly.
