Meeter & Greeter for Outpatients

A new self-service Check-in procedure has been introduced in out-patients.

When patients arrive they need to check in at the kiosk.  This is a self-service check-in procedure.  Once the patient has checked in they need to go and wait in the appropriate waiting area

Volunteer Role: To greet patients as they arrive for their appointments, support patients with the self- service procedure, direct them to the appropriate waiting area and encourage them to take the feedback form.

Volunteers may take or collect notes from different departments

Volunteers may accompany patients to different appointments

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Sign in/out at the main entrance
• To inform the volunteer manager should there be a long term period of absence/holiday or in the event that the volunteer wishes to end their role.
• To inform the Unit of absence
• To at all times maintain confidentiality and adhere to the trusts vision and values
• To undertake MaST training as required by the trust
