Dyscover (CSVA)
Dyscover provides support, encouragement and opportunity to people with aphasia, a communication disorder often brought on by a stroke.
Volunteers play a vital role in the activities of Dyscover by being involved in our conversation support groups and courses (which are run by speech and language therapists).
These groups are designed to increase the member's confidence, self esteem and maximise their communication abilities.
You would be part of a happy, positive and friendly group and would see people really benefit from your help. We offer initial and ongoing training.
Be a good listener, sensitive and understanding person.
Happy to share your skills and interests, you will help people regain their confidence. Be available one morning or afternoon a week over 40 weeks a year.
