Overview: The Health & Wellbeing Programme Champion plays a crucial role in promoting and enhancing the overall health and wellness of our community.

This role focuses on organising and facilitating various health and wellbeing initiatives, workshops, and activities that contribute to the physical and mental well-being of community members across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Development: Collaborate with health professionals, wellness experts, and community members to develop a forward looking comprehensive Health & Wellbeing programme.

Produce an annual forward looking planning exercise to be discussed with VV’s management team.

Identify and prioritise health and wellness needs within the community.

Suggest Funding strategy for various activities within the Programme as well as maintaining expenditures within budget.

Activity Coordination: Organise and coordinate various subsidised fitness classes, nutrition workshops, stress management sessions, and other relevant wellness activities as well as support Management in curating space rental activities that suppose the H&W programme.

Ensure the availability of resources and materials necessary for programme activities.

Community Engagement: Act as a liaison between the community and health-related organizations. Engage community members in health and wellness discussions and events.

Recruit volunteer collaborators to support the H&W programme and its activities.

Education and Awareness: Provide educational resources on various health topics, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.

Raise awareness about mental health issues and available resources for support.

Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and wellbeing programmes. Prepare regular reports on programme outcomes and community participation.

What skills do I need?

Passion for health and wellness promotion.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of health-related topics and resources.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse community members.

Empathy and understanding of community health needs.

Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.

Availability Details

The Health & Wellbeing Programme Champion position is flexible, with hours varying based on programme activities and community needs. Attendance at occasional evening or weekend meetings and events may be required. Vital Village acknowledges that we all have very busy lives, but by committing to this role, you will be expected to contribute as appropriate.
