Renewed Hope is a charity which exists to provide practical and emotional support to the homeless and disadvantaged of East Surrey. We work all year round to provide direct support to our clients responding to their specific needs regardless of how complex their situation.

This includes serving meals, offering shelter, clothing and assistance in finding employment as well as encouraging them to build relationships, listen and care for each other. We do this through the work of a Drop-In service and Winter Night Shelter, which is returning in 2023/24 for the first time since the Covid pandemic started. We opened a house in 2022 where we support 4 homeless men to get back on their feet.

Renewed Hope’s values are founded in the Christian faith, however we do not preach to Gospel as part of our activities. We seek to give hope and the opportunity to build a new life regardless of faith, background or circumstance. We offer acceptance and respect for all. Likewise, we welcome volunteers of all faiths, backgrounds and circumstances.

We work in professional partnership with relevant voluntary and statutory agencies while giving the maximum opportunity for volunteers to serve in all our activities. There is a volunteer book-keeper and paid Senior Administrator who assist the Treasurer in carrying out their duties. The Fundraising team also contribute to financial management.

  • The post-holder will have financial management experience in a charity or business.
  • The Treasurer post is a Trustee.
  • Previous experience as a trustee is not essential, but would be beneficial.

Our Board of Trustees meets monthly in person in Redhill, Surrey. They are in regular conversation with the staff team about the progress of the charity. Many also get involved on an ad-hoc basis with the general activities so they meet the volunteers and beneficiaries of our work.
