Trustees - specific knowledge areas

Renewed Hope (RB)

Interests

  • Homeless and Housing
  • Mental Health
  • Prisoners & Ex-Offenders
  • Social Justice
  • Substance Misuse and Addiction

Activities

  • Trusteeship, Committee Work

We would like to recruit a few more trustees to fill specific knowledge gaps – support work, mental health and social care and housing. Our Board of Trustees meets monthly and are in regular conversation with the staff team about the progress of the charity.

They play a key role in the running of the charity and many come to general volunteering sessions to see on the ground the charity's activities in action and to meet volunteers and beneficiaries of our work.

A trustee is responsible for

  • Ensuring the charity complies with its governing document (Memorandum & Articles or Constitution), charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
  • Ensuring that the charity pursues its objects as defined in its governing document.
  • Protecting the financial stability of the charity and making sure its funds are used responsibly.

You will be supported by an experienced and active Board of Trustees.

What skills do I need?

  • Have a passion for transforming services for homeless and vulnerable adults in East Surrey.
  • Previous experience of a trusteeship or charity role would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and/or professional experience in support work/mental health/social care and housing (we are recruiting multiple Trustees, so knowledge in all these areas is not essential).
